Matteo Guendouzi appeared to have a pop at Arsenal's lack of Champions League success after completing his move to Marseille. The French midfielder was expected to leave the Gunners in the summer transfer window, having spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin. Guendouzi had fallen out of favour under Arteta after clashing with Brighton's Neal Maupay shortly after the Premier League's restart last summer. While his performances for Hertha Berlin haven't earned him a second chance at Arsenal, he has now joined Marseille on a loan deal which includes an obligation to buy. Marseille will compete in the Europa League next season - unlike Arsenal, who failed to secure European football for the first time in 25 years.
