Matt Hancock today slapped down Professor Neil Ferguson after he suggested the government's 'roadmap' out of lockdown could be speeded up if things go well. Prof Ferguson - whose grim modelling triggered the initial lockdown last year - sounded a bright note on Times Radio last night. However, Mr Hancock dismissed the idea of speeding the schedule up in a round of interviews this morning. Scientists were asked to model different scenarios for the roadmap, including relaxing all restrictions in April, or waiting until August. Its roadmap also states: 'Many of the lockdown restrictions, however, will remain in place.
