It’s an idea so wrong-headed, so terribly conceived, that it’s hard to escape the conclusion that it’s exactly what the federal Liberals will do. Last July, it received approval from the independent federal regulator tasked with overseeing the process, which deemed Frontier in the national interest. And it is: it will produce jobs and tens of billions in tax revenues for decades. Alberta has an approval in hand for the Teck project. Reuters says there are moderates in the cabinet who understand how damaging this notion would be in practice.
