Adams, the Nationals’ backup first baseman and go-to pinch hitter, hurt his shoulder in the second inning of a 10-8 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. Both Adams and Michael A. Taylor had MRI exams Sunday morning, after Taylor injured his left wrist in Saturday’s win over the Phillies. “He came in today really, really, really sore and barely could lift his shoulder up,” Martinez said.
