Matsyafed is planning to launch online sale of fish, Fisheries Minister J. Mercykutty Amma, has said. The Minister was inaugurating the Fish Mart opened by Matsyafed, in association with the Kozhencherry grama panchayat, at the panchayat stadium in Kozhencherry on Monday. She said fresh fish from Neendakara in Kollam would be supplied to the hi-tech Fish Mart in Kozhencherry. Inland fish culture is a very good source of revenue and the State requires as much as 12 crore fish seeds against the present seed production of two crore. Kerala presently depends upon other States to meet its annual fish seed demand, she said.
