Maths lecturer leaves people baffled with his daughter's homework

A maths lecturer left baffled by his seven-year-old daughter's geometry homework took to Twitter to ask for help. Dr Kit Yates, co-director of the Centre for Mathematical Biology at the University of Bath and author of The Maths of Life and Death, shared his daughter's maths worksheet to Twitter in a bid to find out the correct answer. Dr Yates, from Oxford, also explained that as far as he was aware, the question was his daughter's 'first introduction to angles'. He also revealed that he would be setting the question for his university students next week following the lively Twitter debate. 'I'm going to set it as a riddle for my second year University Maths students next week to see what they come up with.'
