Those visiting Matheran will soon be able enjoy a picturesque view of the ghats as the Central Railway (CR) is planning to attach a Vistadome coach to the iconic Neral-Matheran toy train. The Vistadome coach will have a glass ceiling and enable tourists to get a better view. The decision was taken after Ravindra Gupta, Member (Rolling Stock), Railway Board interacted with tourists on the toy train, who suggested to provide a better view of the ghat section. This will also lead to rise in fares, which will be decided after consulting the Railway Board,” said a CR official. Further, CR has also collaborated with Google Art and Culture, which will capture panoramic images of the Matheran railways document and digitalise them.
