The Peoples Democratic Party Board of Trustees acting chairman, Adolphus Wabara, has called on all the leaders of the party to match words with action and fulfil their commitments to the party. Wabara urged the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to assure party members that he would relinquish his position after the 2023 elections. Wike had asked the national chairman of the party to step aside from his position, owing to claims that he pledged to resign should a northern presidential flagbearer emerge. In the aftermath of the election, the national chairman has yet to honour the pledge, which has brought the rumpus in the party. Consequently, Wike had shunned party activities, claiming that the party chairman must resign for equity, justice and fairness.
