(Photo/Elvis Ogina)NAIROBI, KENYA: A number of matatu operators are seeking to reduce fares until the political stalemate in the country is resolved. They also want the national government to regulate fuel prices so they can achieve lower fares. The Association of Matatu Operators on Wednesday said the current political climate had translated to losses for residents and urged its members to reduce fares until the situation improved. We are urging our members to reduce fares for our customers during this difficult time,” said Jimal Ibrahim, chairman of the association. “The Government should regulate fuel prices as this will enable us to pass the benefit to our customers,” he said.
