Matatu operators demonstrate in Nakuru town demanding old terminus back

Matatu operators in Nakuru have clashed with police while holding demonstrations in Nakuru town today as they demanded that the County Government allows them back in the CBD. The county Government moved the matatu termini out of the CBD in March in a move aimed at reducing congestion and prevent the spread of Covid-19. A demonstrator runs through the fire during the demonstrations in Nakuru town. This was to allow social distancing and adherence to other measures instituted by the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of the virus. Four months later, the governor has vowed not to allow the operators back to the CBD saying that the new termini allocated during the pandemic shall remain permanent to minimize congestion in Nakuru town CBD.
