'Massive event': demand for World Cup tickets


Tickets for next year's Fifa women's World Cup are getting snapped up and the tournament's mascot has had its first public appearance in Dunedin. Tournament chief executive Dave Beeche said today the stage was set for the world's largest women's sports event, to be hosted by New Zealand and Australia. Tickets for individual football fixtures went on sale from today after venue packs had previously been available, and Mr Beeche said demand was strong.
