Sleepyhead boss Craig Turner hopes to start building a billion-dollar industrial hub in North Waikato next year, despite opposition from Waikato Regional Council. Regional council chair Russ Rimmington has criticised the development as “ad hoc”, saying it will clutter the highway between Hamilton and Auckland. Rimmington said the regional council would submit against the development. He is optimistic plans for the development will go ahead despite objections from the Waikato Regional Council, and the effects of Covid-19.
