Massey University has announced its next vice chancellor to replace respected former parliamentarian Steve Maharey. The university confirmed today internationally respected academic Professor Jan Thomas will hold the post from January next year. She will be the sixth vice-chancellor to lead Massey University and the second woman, after Professor Judith Kinnear was appointed in 2003. "Massey University has always been highly regarded for its research excellence and to be able to lead the university on the next stage of its development is an honour," she said.
