Sunday, August 14, 2016 Massa’s front gets tough on economyWith its eyes set on the politically invaluable province of Buenos Aires as the prize, the Renewal Front (FR) wrapped up its provincial convention with a strongly-worded message decrying the Macri administration’s “trickle-down” economic policies. The 2013 midterms elections, which Massa won in the province, also propelled his ultimately unsuccessful presidential bid. Let’s Change will also be looking to convert a better than expected showing in 2015 and the Justicialist Party (PJ) is re-grouping after losing the province to Governor María Eugenia Vidal. The Third Way approach was also on display with lower-ranking members of the FR-UNA making explicit appeals to rebellious Radicals. While Moyano was the first union leader to visit Macri as president-elect, the relationship has soured somewhat since then without reaching a breaking point.
