A mass shooting threat has been posted on the dark web warning people to stay away from screenings of the Joker film at one of Sydney's most popular cinemas. The threat was posted to 4Chan warning people to stay away from the Ritz Cinema in Randwick, in Sydney's east, during screenings of the Warner Bros. film on Friday. The thread was then deleted, but not before users took a screenshot of the threat and posted it to Reddit. Many users contacted police and reported the threat, as well as making the cinema aware of the post. The scare comes after reports of the United States Army issuing warnings about the threat of violence led by incels at screenings of Joker in the States.
