The Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information has requested the Secretary to the Ministry of Health to make the Covid-19 vaccines available to the journalists as soon as possible. In a statement, the ministry said journalists have been identified as a risk group for Covid virus as they have to participate in various media coverage activities due to the nature of their duties. The Secretary has requested that the journalists covering various diplomatic discussions and conferences take their own risks and therefore give priority to the staff as well as the journalists of all the institutions belonging to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information. Also, various media organizations and media institutions had made several requests to give the Covid vaccine to journalists due to the prevailing situation. Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Ministry has requested the Secretary to the Ministry of Health to provide this vaccine to the officers of the Postal Service as well since they deliver medicines, parcels etc.
