Photo: Gareth ChaneyA legal mandate to wear face masks is unlikely to return, despite highly spreadable new variants of Covid, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said. Mr Varadkar said such a prospect is “unlikely,” even as more masks are seen back on the streets with people opting for self-protection. Mr Varadkar said the acute hospital system would be able to cope, even with an upsurge in the Pirola strain.
