All of which is why The Times is so lucky that Masha will soon be our newest Opinion columnist. After 22 years in Russia, Masha returned to the United States in December 2013, after the Kremlin’s campaign against L.G.B.T.Q. Masha began contributing regularly to The New York Times in 2011 as an author on the Latitude blog and later as a contributing Opinion writer.
