Maryland baseball assistant Rob Vaughn is the leading candidate to replace John Szefc as head coach of the Terrapins, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. While Maryland has vowed to conduct a national search to replace Szefc, who left the program Friday to take over as head coach at Virginia Tech, it also has zeroed in on Vaughn as a viable replacement.
