This is the moment a woman dubbed the 'Mary Poppins of Matalan' was caught pulling a stream of allegedly shoplifted clothes from her handbag. The woman was even seen to have a hidden compartment in her skirt outside the Matalan branch at Strood Retail Park in Kent two days ago. A video filmed by Billy Tivey, 20, on Wednesday showed her removing an seemingly unending stream of items from the bag and apparently trying to make off. Mr Tivey, who uploaded the video to social media captioned 'Choring from Strood Matalan', added: 'It was somewhat laughable how she was able to take that much.' Michelle Landolo was among those to see the similarity with the character portrayed by Julie Andrews in the 1964 film, writing: 'Like a Mary Poppins' handbag.'
