Johnny EdwardThe National Industrial Court in Abuja will on Monday (today) deliver judgment in the lawsuit filed against the Nigeria Football Federation, League Management Company, match commissioner Christian Mbah and Nasarawa United by the family of late footballer Chineme Martins, The PUNCH reports. The late Martins, 23, died after collapsing on the pitch, with the ambulance that should have conveyed him to hospital, failing to start. Mbah, the match commissioner for the tie, did not implement the medical and safety protocols contained in the league rules. Martins’ family is seeking N120m compensation from Nasarawa United, according to the court documents made available to The PUNCH. The family also sought the support of global players’ union Fifpro, as they pursue the claim 11 months after Martins’ death.
