ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday inaugurated Pakistan Television (PTV) Parliament Channel and said that the channel will telecast live proceedings of both houses of Parliament, Standing Committees and will deepen the connection between public representatives and the people. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting Chairman Faisal Javed and Information Secretary Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera pressed a button to formally launch the PTV Parliament Channel. The minister said when she came to the Parliament, she started to understand the actual work done by the Parliament. “This is the first phase of the Parliament Channel and in future, it will become a full-fledged channel and the next Parliament will have its role to improve its working,” she said. She expressed hope that the channel will be fully able to inform the people about the role and functioning of Parliament.
