Marnie Beth Kaplan and Michael Stewart Smallberg are to be married May 13 at the Foundry, an events space in Long Island City, Queens. The bride, 34, is a senior analyst at Bellwether Education Partners, a nonprofit organization focused on changing education for underserved children. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and received a master’s degree in the science of teaching from Pace University. She also received a master’s degree in public policy and a law degree from Georgetown. She is the daughter of Ellen S. Kaplan and Harvey S. Kaplan of New City, N.Y.
