Marner, in a video posted to Twitter by the National Hockey League, is seen during a recent Leafs team meal stirring his bowl of ice cream into a gooey mess before eating it. The Boston Bruins knew Marner, coming off a 94-point regular season, would be a weapon for the Leafs in the best-of-seven series the extent to be determined. In Game 1, it was all Marner, with the 21-year-old winger scoring two goals including the winner on a penalty shot. After the Leafs’ morning skate on Saturday, Marner was asked what comes to mind when he hears that sort of compliment. Leafs centre Nazem Kadri doesn’t envy those who are given the assignment of trying to shut down, or at least contain, Marner.
