Civil Defence teams across the country will spring into action when a fake tsunami hits coastal communities at the end of this month. A simulated earthquake in the Kermadec Trench, about 800 kilometres northeast of New Zealand, will generate a major tsunami during Exercise Tangaroa, affecting the whole country.
