Market Now: Bharti Airtel, Vedanta among most active stocks in terms of value


NEW DELHI: Shares of State Bank of India (Rs 341.77 crore), Punjab National Bank (Rs 240.55 crore), Bharti Airtel (Rs 181.58 crore) and Vedanta (Rs 125.48 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE in morning trade on Thursday.Shares of Larsen & Toubro (Rs 109.84 crore), Tata Consultancy Services (Rs 97.89 crore), Bank of Baroda (Rs 97.31 crore), Infosys (Rs 90.22 crore), ICICI Bank (Rs 87.99 crore), Reliance Industries (Rs 87.38 crore), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 87.08 crore) and Tata Steel (Rs 82.54 crore) were also among the most active stocks in terms of value on NSE.Equity benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex were in the negative zone ahead of the Futures and Options (F&O) derivative expiry for January series today.The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 5 points down at 11,081, while the BSE Sensex was 43 points down at 36,118 around 10:10 am (IST).In the Nifty50 index, Vedanta, Hindalco Industries , Cipla, Larsen & Toubro and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers.However, State Bank of India, HCL Technologies , YES Bank, Infosys and Wipro were among the top losers.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 28 were in the green, while 22 were in the red.
