Kenyan sprinter Mark Otieno has maintained to claim his innocence following a failed doping test at the Olympics. The 100m sprinter was set to participate in the preliminaries on Saturday afternoon but the positive test caused him a suspension. In a statement via his social media accounts, Otieno said he "would never engage in any activity that would jeopardize me or my team mates." The Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage has issued a statement on the matter maintaining Government’s commitment in the fight against doping. ports ministry Principal Secretary Joe Okudo said the Ministry is still waiting for the conclusion of an appeal filed by the athlete.
