Following an onslaught of attacks, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has backed away from launching the extremist America First Caucus, at least for now. Though the lawmaker vowed Saturday in a tweet to push the “America First agenda with my congressional colleagues,” she’s not planning to launch the caucus “at this time,” a spokesperson for Greene told Forbes. An incendiary caucus platform statement that triggered an uproar was part of a “planning proposal and nothing was agreed to or approved,” spokesperson Nick Dyer told CNN. — Marjorie Taylor Greene 🇺🇸 (@mtgreenee) April 17, 2021Greene said Saturday that the controversial document was a “staff-level draft proposal” from an unidentified “outside group” that she hadn’t yet read.
