Disini said that the Cybercrime Prevention Act was enacted in September of 2012, four months after the story was posted. Disini said that nevertheless, under the Revised Penal Code, the crime of libel must be filed within one year of publication. The lawyer said the DoJ made a new interpretation of the Revised Penal Code and the Cybercrime Prevention Act. She was held at the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters in Manila overnight, a move which sparked outrage here and abroad.
