NEW YORK—Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman turned 26 Tuesday, and its fitting that he is in New York to celebrate his birthday. Stroman grew up in nearby Medford, N.Y., about an hour’s drive from the big city. In a tweet as his birthday approached, Stroman conveyed his appreciation of life: “Life is amazing. Cheers to more life.”On Wednesday, Stroman will make his seventh start of what has been a very successful season so far, taking on CC Sabathia and the Yankees. The righthander has allowed two or fewer runs in four of his five starts, and is coming off back to back quality starts (against Tampa and the Angels) in which he allowed four runs over 16 1/3 innings.
