But to say United ­players look happier without Mourinho’s brooding ­presence is stating the ­blindingly ­obvious. No one could suggest Rashford did not give maximum commitment in the two-and-a-half-year Mourinho regime. But of all those to benefit from the departure of Mourinho, Rashford – probably edging out Pogba – will be the one to flourish most.
