Marcos on Monday confronted the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for allowing manufacturers to increase the price of “Noche Buena” (Christmas Eve feast) products that Filipinos usually buy for the Christmas season. Marcos was reacting to the approval by DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez of the suggested retail price (SRP) of some “Noche Buena” products. ‘’Pero lalong hindi na makatitikim ng ham ang mahihirap na Pinoy sa kanilang noche Buena kung ganito na kamahal ang presyo,” Marcos said. Marcos strongly suggested that the DTI freezes its SRPs on these products to allow Filipinos enjoy “Noche Buena”.
