Enzo Maresca, who parted ways with Chelsea on New Year’s Day, claimed that Cucurella was absent due to a ‘small issue’ and was hopeful over his return for the trip to City. Cucurella took part in training on Friday but caretaker manager Calum McFarlane revealed in the pre-match press conference that the 27-year-old still needs to be assessed ahead of the game against Pep Guardiola’s side.
