Chief Justice David Maraga hands over the Judiciary flag to acting CJ Philomena Mwilu (left) during his retirement ceremony at the Supreme Court yesterday. The now Chief Justice emeritus was neither a stranger in the corridors of justice nor was he going to do anything so different. His deputy, now acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, praised Maraga but did not attempt to list the firsts and accomplishments. Born on January 12, 1951, Maraga became an advocate of the High Court on October 16, 1978. He served as a High Court judge between October 2003 and 2007.
