Leke Baiyewu, AbujaThe lawmaker representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Senator Kabiru Marafa, has dissociated himself from the meeting reported to have been convened by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, with governorship aspirants in Zamfara State. Marafa, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), was reacting to a report by a national daily (not The PUNCH) that Oshiomhole met with the nine APC governorship aspirants from Zamfara State in Abuja on Thursday. The senator, who is a also governorship aspirant, said he was not aware of the meeting. He said, “My attention has been drawn to an online publication headlined, ‘Oshiomhole meets Zamfara guber aspirants, as party considers Lawal.’ I want to state emphatically that nobody invited me to any meeting after the failed attempt to conduct primaries/consensus as of 12am, Sunday, October 7, 2018.”Copyright PUNCH.
