Students, elders and staff at the Ditidaht Community School on Vancouver Island have put together a mapping project to document and explore traditional uses and names for places in the area. Krissy Edgar, a Grade 12 student who worked on the project, said her motivation was simple. As part of the project, each student picked a place in the territory they were curious about. The students then visit the different sites together and share what they've learned about each place with their classmates.
