The Leafs, after another questionable performance from Hutchinson in a 5-3 loss to the Rangers in New York on Wednesday night, pulled the trigger on a trade for some goaltending help. He played part of his junior career with the Soo Greyhounds, the former team of Leafs GM Kyle Dubas. The first-period meltdown was the result of a Leafs team too bent on offence. The first of those goals came when Mika Zibanejad snapped a wrist shot off a lost faceoff in the Leafs zone. It was his 30th career two-goal game … Leafs defenceman Cody Ceci left the game with about six minutes left in the third period and did not return.
