The Maple Leafs haven’t officially cut back their roster, but the division of the 49 players remaining in training camp into two groups on Thursday certainly suggests their minds are close to made up. The early group consisted of five forward lines, four defence pairs and both NHL-calibre goalies: Frederik Andersen and backup Curtis McElhinney. That’s 25 players — two over the roster limit.
