WASHINGTON—Tom Wilson, who grew up idolizing the Maple Leafs, scored with a wrist shot as the Washington Capitals pulled off a 3-2 overtime win over Toronto in their Stanley Cup playoff opener. With nine Maple Leafs making their playoff debut, a big question was going to be how they adapted to something they’d only ever seen on TV. Justin Williams clawed Washington back to 2-2 heading into the third period after the Leafs opened a 2-0 lead. The Capitals got the only goal of the second period, Williams again. Eric Fehr, back from a broken finger, skated with the Leafs Thursday for the first time in three weeks.
