more-inThe Chhattisgarh police have arrested seven Maoist supporters from the restive Narayanpur district of south Chhattisgarh. “There was an exchange of fire between the Maoists and the police last night at around 11.30 pm near Tekanar area of Narayanpur,” Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh said on Sunday. “This area is three kilometres away from the Dhanora police station of Orchha town. After the encounter, we managed to detain seven Maoist supporters, including three women.”One of them was a former Maoist who had surrendered to the police, he said. These people were going to dig the road when the police party was engaged in an encounter with the Maoists” Mr.Singh said.
