Many new faces to enter Senate

By ERIC WAINAINAMore by this AuthorMore than 30 sitting senators are set to lose their seats or seek new elective positions in this year's general Election, paving the way for many new faces in the next Senate. Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi, his Kirinyaga counterpart Daniel Karaba and Kithure Kindiki (Tharaka Nithi) survived the tide. Mr Wamatangi defied the political wave that swept away Governor William Kabogo and Woman Rep Anna Nyokabi, half of the sitting MPs and 82 ward representatives. “Kiambu people have demonstrated that they picked or rejected leaders based on their track records,” Mr Wamatangi said after the primaries. In Nyeri, former Mathira MP Ephraim Maina is expected to make a comeback after clinching the Jubilee party ticket.
