Many Kenyans are not confident the Supreme Court can fairly handle a presidential petition without political or financial interference, a new survey shows. However, the mistrust for the highest court is highest among Cord supporters, with only 27 per cent saying the Court could fairly handle a presidential petition. Opposition chief Raila Odinga has said the Supreme Court judges unfairly handled his 2013 presidential petition, despite what he believes was a fundamentally flawed polls. According to the poll released yesterday, only 36 per cent of the respondents feel confident that if a presidential petition comes to the Supreme Court it will be decided fairly. According to the new poll, only 50 per cent of Jubilee supporters are confident the Supreme Court could deliver a fair verdict.
