Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has called for peace amid challenges to maintain law and order in the state following unrest earlier this month. The chief minister has appealed to the people to “blame the government and not communities”. Recently, all 10 Kuki legislators, including seven from the ruling BJP, had flagged the “separate administration” demand for the community. On the other hand, the BJP government in Manipur extended the ban on the use of mobile and broadband internet by another five days, citing fresh reports of arson and the burning of houses.
