Manila Water Company Inc. said on Monday that it will start implementing the first tranche of its approved rate hike on October 16 of this year. The second tranche will be implemented starting January 2020, the third will be in January 2021, and the last tranche will be implemented in January 2022. “To mitigate the impact of the tariff increase on its customers, Manila Water shall stagger its implementation over a five-year period,” the company said. The MWSS said that rate increase will be skipped in 2019 to help customers adjust.
