MANILA, Philippines — “Water jeepneys,” which would cut travel time from Manila to Cavite from four hours by land to 15 minutes by water, will start operating today. The two shipping companies fielding ferries for the route – Seaborne Shipping Co. Inc. and Shogun Ships Co. Inc. – will offer free rides from today until Jan. 9, 2020, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said in a statement posted on the websites of the Philippine Coast Guard and the Maritime Industry Authority.
