The Asset Recovery Authority (ARA) is seeking court orders to forfeit the money to the state after Abdi Mohamed Ali failed to account for over KSh 51 million in his account. Ali's banking transactions were brought to the anti-corruption radar in 2014 and since then he had been depositing money into the account without withdrawing. According to the anti-graft agency, Ali had been depositing money mostly less than KSh 1 million on different dates and only deposited more than KSh 1 million on five occasions. The lowest amount of money the county staff deposited was KSh 134,000, while the highest was KSh 2.1 million.
