Isack Alio Shamo, a father of 16 decided to go back school after drought wiped out his livestock. Shamo, who returned to school four years ago after a devastating drought wiped out his livestock, scored an impressive score of 355 marks and received the news while in Nairobi. "I went to school because I missed the opportunity in my childhood, which was spent in the fields looking after my father’s livestock," Shamo explained. Expressing the importance of education, Shamo emphasised his commitment to ensuring all his children receive an education. Despite achieving a score that could secure him a place in a good secondary school outside Mandera, Shamo emphasised his commitment to his family.
