Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago wants the police officers in bandit-prone Turkana facilitated with a chopper. “In Kainuk Turkana we lost security officers and we want to request you as the commander in chief, that the officers be given a chopper to be able to handle the bandits,” Mandago said. Mandago spoke during a church service attended by President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua. His call comes barely hours after four police officers lost their lives in a bandit attack in Kaakong on the Kitale-Lodwar highway in Turkana county on Friday. Police said the officers were on patrol on the highway Friday evening when they were ambushed near the KWS camp in Kaakong.
