Mandago booed for defending Governors' spending

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago was booed at the devolution conference on Tuesday for attempting to dismiss claims that County chiefs micromanage resources. Mandago, who had been reacting to Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen's remarks, said county chiefs follow the law. "We have to correct the misconception that funds are allocated from the centre," he said telling off Murkomen, who lashed out at Governors. In his brief speech, Mandago said Governors will only support the Ward Development Fund once the Senate passes the Bill and amends the Public Finance Management Act as well.
