The Dutch midfielder arrived at Old Trafford from Ajax for £40m last summer but has failed to make much impact at all in the Premier League. The 24-year-old has been afforded just two Premier League starts under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and 14 appearances off the bench. Juan Mata is also out of contract at the end of this campaign, meaning Van de Beek could naturally move up the pecking order under Solskjaer. Last month Solskjaer hinted at a much bigger role for Van de Beek after returning from a successful international break with the Netherlands, but it has not really come to fruition.
